Kate Winslet is quick cornering the business sector in playing patient American wives and single parents. The British on-screen character catches up on parts in such quintessentially Us admission as Mildred Penetrate, Revolutionary Street and Minimal Youngsters with an alternate bravura turn in Jason Reitman’s dull new transitioning drama, Work Day. Winslet plays Adele, a separated mother living in a creaky house with her grieved teen child Henry (Gatlin Griffith) in a modest suburban town. Josh Brolin plays Blunt, a got away detainee who inveigles his path into their home and appears set to take them prisoner. Rather, over Work Day weekend, the three quickly turn into a family unit and appreciate some fleeting local bliss.
