‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’ is A Holiday Must See

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is an upcoming epic adventure movie based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel The Hobbit from 1937. It is the second installment in The Hobbit film series. It is sequel to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012). It is to be followed by The Hobbit: There and Back Again (2014). The film series acts as prequel to the Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Anyone who is a Tolkien fan is bound to be looking forward to the second film in The Hobbit trilogy, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaugis bound to be a holiday must see as it said to be just as amazing as the first film in the series. Since June fans have tuned in to various fan sites and Youtube to watch trailer after trailer in anticipation of seeing the adventures of a wizened wizard leading Bilbo Baggins and a group of awkward dwarves on their fantastic journey to save the Shire from Smaug, the fearful dragon.

The story continues on as the entourage maintain their journey East to Mirkwood, home to the Wood-elves. The group inevitably get attacked by large spiders and captured by the elves. Bilbo aids in their escape before the travel on towards the Lonely Mountain where they find a hidden door into the mountain where Bilbo encounters Smaug, the dragon.

Hype for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is widespread across the internet as fan and official websites are releasing videos featuring blogs and forums, exclusive extra film footage, and the films celebrities in live interviews. The anticipation for the film is universal as young and old gear up for its release in time for the holidays. Whether or not you are an avid Tolkien follower or just someone who enjoys the high action adventure flicks of Middle Earth, many will agree The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is bound to be a must see. I know I will be there with my family and a giant bucket of buttered popcorn, sitting on the edge of seat as the theater finally goes dark and the adventure continues.
